AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF TÜRKİYE TO THE REPUBLIC OF MALTA

Ambassador Şen was born on 12 July 1974 in Ankara, Türkiye.

He graduated from the Department of International Relations, Ankara University in 1996.

Following his graduation from university, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye and has worked at various posts in Türkiye and abroad since then.

At the Turkish Foreign Ministry in Ankara, he served in various positions at the Department of Slavic Countries, Department of Caucasus, Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs, Department of Protocol, Department of Consular Affairs and Department of Asia Pacific. He last served in Ankara as Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Director General of Foreign Policy Coordination.

Ambassador Şen also served at the Office of the President and at the Office of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

Abroad, he served at the Turkish Embassies in Bahrain, Rome and Washington DC. In his last assignment abroad, he served as Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Toronto.

Ambassador Şen attended the NATO Defense College Senior Course in Rome, earned his MA in International Relations from Gazi University in Ankara and is currently pursuing his PhD in International Relations and European Studies at Ankara University.

Erdeniz Şen was appointed as Ambassador of the Republic Türkiye to the Republic of Malta on December 9th, 2022 by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye. Ambassador Şen presented his credentials to H.E. George Vella, President of Malta, on February 23rd, 2023.

Ambassador Şen is married to Ms. Deniz Şahinbaş Şen, who is an English teacher, and has a daughter, Lara (17) and a son, Arda (13).
