No: 317, 8 December 2020, Press Release Regarding the Vessel Intercepted and Fined Arbitrarily Off the City of Marsa Susa in Libya
It has been learned that a Jamaican-flagged vessel named “Mabrooka”, which is operated by a Turkish company and with also Turkish crew aboard, was intercepted off the city of Marsa Susa in Libya by putschist Haftar's so-called Libyan National Army; the vessel was fined and detained with its crew.
We strongly condemn this action. Steps for ensuring resumption of the planned expedition of the vessel must be taken immediately.
Haftar and his militia continue their aggresive attitude even at a period when there is progress in the UN-led political process among our Libyan brothers and sisters.
We remind that there will be grave consequences, and we will consider these elements as legitimate targets in case Turkish interests are targeted in Libya.
